Illamasqua Week: Sheer & Intense Lipgloss

10 Mar sheer

What They Say…

Sheer: “Super glossy, with a sensual, sheer colour designed to enhance your lips. Use Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss on its own or with Illamasqua Lipstick for added pout. Add a little more sexiness to your smile.”

Intense: “Come out of the shadows with high-shine, colour-rich Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in a wide range of bold colours. Create lips that look full and glossy, without feeling sticky with this “liquid lipstick”.

What I Like…

Most lipglosses I have come across are sticky and oozy and this is neither. The formula is thick enough to coat my lips and leave them super glossy for an hour as well as providing a gorgeous sheer colour that is perfect with a smokey or natural eye. The intense colour is a great alternative to lipstick and once again with Illamasqua,  the colour payoff is amazing! The tubes are great because being longer makes the application so much easier. The applicator tip is longer than average which really helps to control how much colour you are squeezing out.

What I Dislike…

There is just the one thing that drives me batty…the formula is not as long lasting as some other brands only last an hour so I seem to constantly be reapplying.

The Illamasqua range is available from ASOS online and old exclusively in Australia from Myer.

Illamasqua Week: Lipstick

9 Mar lipstick

What They Say…

“Let your lips speak volumes. Indulge in colour-intense lipstick with a highly pigmented formula, available in a choice of flawless finishes, from creamy matt to iridescent finishes. Illamasqua Lipstick glides on smoothly and doesn’t give up without a fight for the perfect all-night pout. A must have for professional make-up artists, and those who want to make a statement.

What I Like…

These lipsticks are long lasting because I only need to reapply after a few hours and my lips look lovely for ages. The formula is slick and smooth so it doesn’t show up any flakes and leaves my lips feeling soft and luscious so there’s no dry feeling like I get with some other lipstick options.

I also like the simplicity and elegance of the simple black tube. It doesn’t scream look at me, but it is classy and elegant which is nice!

What I Dislike… NOTHING!

Illamasqua Week: Masquara

8 Mar masquara

What They Say…

“If the eyes are the windows of the soul, Illamasqua Masquara in Raven reveals a heart of darkness with a formula that lengthens, defines and dramatises lashes to extremes.

Masquara, has swiftly become the new hot product on everyone’s lashes and now you can discover its “wonderbra-like” qualities for yourself.”

What I Like…

I adore the length and ooomph this gives my lashes. Maximum impact for minimum effort. My eyes after one coat look alive….after two, hello sex bomb! That, and it lasts a whole work day and a gym session and still requires eye makeup remover….plus, no clumps or flakes!

What I Dislike…

With such dramatic lashes it is so easy for you to stain your eyelid….which is a massive bugger if you have just spend ten minutes getting your shadow and liner organised. Also, just black…would love a brown, a clear and a fun violet shade.

The Illamasqua range is available from ASOS online and old exclusively in Australia from Myer.

Illamasqua Week: Cream Blusher

7 Mar blush

What They Say…

“Tease, hypnotise, use to effect. Use Cream Blusher to highlight your cheekbones, shape your face, build and blend with fingers or a brush to create the colour intensity you desire. Use over foundation for impact, or under for a captivating glow. However you apply it, be daring.”

What I Like…

Love how easy this is to apply. It leaves me with a sexy flush to my cheeks that is youthful and playful…somthing I just don’t get with powder. The colour payoff again is awesome and I can see this lasting for ever. The case is hard plastic and sturdy and has already survived being knocked about quite a bit so it is quite strong.

What I Dislike…

It is super easy to apply way too much product so build, build, build your colour or you may have to start your application all over again!

The Illamasqua range is available from ASOS online and old exclusively in Australia from Myer.

Illamasqua Week: Pure Pigment

6 Mar pigment

What They Say…

Made to be played with. A metallic, high-shine, pure-colour powder that highlights eyes, cheeks and brows. Mix with eye shadow, blusher or use it on its own to intense effect. Bring out your bold side.”

What I Like…

The colour payoff in these pigments is truly amazing. I have the gorgeous purple shade involve and it is just gorgeous. Long lasting too, even without a primer this managed to last all day and still looked fresh. A little goes a long way so make sure you are using a good brush as there may be some fallout.

What I Dislike…

The container isn’t awesome…It can be tricky to open and I chose to leave the sticker attached (see photo) because I can just imaging a pigment accident all over my fluffy beige carpet.

The Illamasqua range is available from ASOS online and old exclusively in Australia from Myer.

Illamasqua Week: Skin Base Foundation

5 Mar SkinBase

What They Say…

Inspired by the cult Asian market Beauty Balm creams, Skin Base Foundation is a brand new, refined formula unlike anything on the UK market. Easily blendable, it effortlessly creates a perfect complexion, and like the entire Illamasqua foundation range, is undetectable in a professional HD environment. Suitable for all skin types, it smoothes, softens and conditions your skin whilst providing natural, buildable coverage. The Ultimate ‘Skin Realism’ Foundation.”

What I Like…

I love the coverage this baby packs. My skin looks younger, dewy and fresh without looking covered up or bare. The fomulation is light enough to leave skin looking refreshed but heavy enough to actually provide decent coverage….unlike my experience with a certain other BB cream. Garnier….yes, I’m talking about you babe!

I love the tube size and shape. I’m able to squeeze out just enough product as I need it and unlike a pump…there’s no product wastage.

What I Dislike…

Actually, nothing. The high end price would ordinarily put me off a foundation like this but the coverage payoff and the compliments I get when wearing it make it something I would happily hand over my hard earned cash for.

HG Eyes: Illamasqua Masqara

21 Feb Masquara

I’m doing a whole week on Illamasqua soon, but in the meantime consider this a sneak peek. Since this baby ended up in my hot little hands it has never left.

The wand is pretty stock standard, so I was so surprised when one coat….just one zig zagged coat provided fabulous sexy lashes. This mascara has survived tears and weather and still needs to be wiped off at the end of the day with eye makeup remover….It is that long lasting.

Stay tuned for Illamasqua week…coming soon!
