What I Love…

I love that these eye colours are natural and organic. They have a whole list of skin friendly ingredients that draw me to them and I adore the palette design. Shiny, black and slimline, it screams elegance. The mirror is long and substantial and the palette is small enough to fit almost anywhere, definitely hand/makeup bag friendly. The colour choice in the palette is soft and neutral and each compliment the others well with a soft charcoal shade, lilac, peach, nude and olive green shade all represented in the palette.

What I Loathe…

These are way too subtle for me. In my eyes, richly pigmented they are not. Maybe with fingertip application and/or a sponge applicator you might get a better result, but with my brushes I got almost nothing and the colour intensity simply would not build.

The Nvey Eco Eye Shadow Palette 500ml RRP $75.95 AUD and is available from Nvey Eco

Illamasqua Week: Masquara

8 Mar masquara

What They Say…

“If the eyes are the windows of the soul, Illamasqua Masquara in Raven reveals a heart of darkness with a formula that lengthens, defines and dramatises lashes to extremes.

Masquara, has swiftly become the new hot product on everyone’s lashes and now you can discover its “wonderbra-like” qualities for yourself.”

What I Like…

I adore the length and ooomph this gives my lashes. Maximum impact for minimum effort. My eyes after one coat look alive….after two, hello sex bomb! That, and it lasts a whole work day and a gym session and still requires eye makeup remover….plus, no clumps or flakes!

What I Dislike…

With such dramatic lashes it is so easy for you to stain your eyelid….which is a massive bugger if you have just spend ten minutes getting your shadow and liner organised. Also, just black…would love a brown, a clear and a fun violet shade.

The Illamasqua range is available from ASOS online and old exclusively in Australia from Myer.

Illamasqua Week: Pure Pigment

6 Mar pigment

What They Say…

Made to be played with. A metallic, high-shine, pure-colour powder that highlights eyes, cheeks and brows. Mix with eye shadow, blusher or use it on its own to intense effect. Bring out your bold side.”

What I Like…

The colour payoff in these pigments is truly amazing. I have the gorgeous purple shade involve and it is just gorgeous. Long lasting too, even without a primer this managed to last all day and still looked fresh. A little goes a long way so make sure you are using a good brush as there may be some fallout.

What I Dislike…

The container isn’t awesome…It can be tricky to open and I chose to leave the sticker attached (see photo) because I can just imaging a pigment accident all over my fluffy beige carpet.

The Illamasqua range is available from ASOS online and old exclusively in Australia from Myer.

Dear Dud: Max Factor 2000 Calorie Lash Mascara

29 Feb

Max Factor - Max Factor 2000 Calorie Aqua Lash - black/brownMax Darling,

I have to be honest here, I fell for you in-store because of the age thing. That handsome older type, you just ooze history and experience that a girl simply can’t resisit. Unfortunately, that’s not all you ooze.

You’re a clumpy bugger aren’t you? and kind of sleazy in a sticky way. I thought with all that history you would know a little about formula, but instead of separating my long lashes, all you manage to effectively do is stick them together and frustrate the hell out of me!

Want Drama? You promise. Sure, doesn’t every girl? But no-one wants the drama of having to separate clumps lash by lash.

What’s all this about 300 hundred times the volume? Yeah, right. Maybe if I give you 300 chances at getting it right!

Ok, so you might be smudge proof and touch proof, but you are definitely not foolproof, because since you were part of that cute Valentine’s pack, I fell for it, hook, line and sinker!

Well, no more I tell you. It’s just not going to work out for us Max.

It’s over…get the message and go cling hopelessly to someone else’s lashes!

HG Eyes: Super Bright Eyed Cream

23 Feb

I can not rave enough about this rich eye cream from Nicholas Pericone’s Super range. It is amazing at looking after tired eyes and keeping my peepers alert, bright and sexy. Added to the lusciousness is the yummy melon scent. Find out about My Super Daily Beauty Routine here!

I have been been using this wonder cream for about six months and I really notice when I skip a step and don’t apply this. I use it morning and night and have noticed huge improvements in my eye area.I adore that it is paraben free and full of natural goodness and so will you. Trust me, your bright eyes will thank you!

HG Eyes: Napoleon Perdis Liner

22 Feb TTBlackTie_10

There is nothing worse than a crappy eyeliner. I am particular when it comes to eyeliner. It needs to be a solid black, soft enough that it doesn’t drag, long wearing and pigmented enough to line my rims first attempt.

I’m a fan on Napoleon Perdis, but it rarely gets a mention on here. I love their foundation, have a great shadow pallette, but its this eye pencil in Onyx that I rave the most about. It does the job, lasts longer than any other pencil i’ve owned, doesn’t irritate my eyes or make them water and the colour payoff is fantastic.

Run, don’t walk to your nearest stockist!

HG Eyes: Illamasqua Masqara

21 Feb Masquara

I’m doing a whole week on Illamasqua soon, but in the meantime consider this a sneak peek. Since this baby ended up in my hot little hands it has never left.

The wand is pretty stock standard, so I was so surprised when one coat….just one zig zagged coat provided fabulous sexy lashes. This mascara has survived tears and weather and still needs to be wiped off at the end of the day with eye makeup remover….It is that long lasting.

Stay tuned for Illamasqua week…coming soon!

HG Eyes: Inglot M3 Shadow

20 Feb

This week I am super excited to share my HG Eye products with you…First up…Shadows!

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love these babies. I happened to pick up a whole bunch of them when Inglot was having a sale and they are amazingly pigmented providing colour that lasts all day, even without a shadow primer.

Added to the charm is the fact that they are dead easy to use as the three colours in the trio all compliment eachother, which makes my makeup appliction in the morning a much simpler task.

I love that they are small and portable and I can throw one in my bag with a mascara and lippy and hey presto a whole look in just a few minutes.

Inglot Swatch Madness

16 Jan inglot P

Put your hand up if you went a little crazy at the Boxing Day sales?

Don’t worry. I did too, especially when I saw Inglot were discontinuing their M3 line of shadow trips which incidentally I can not rave enough about. They were going for $12.95 each. With 3 shades per trio that’s about $4 a shade. So I went a little crazy!

Here’s what I love about Inglot shadows. They are highly pigmented and last all day on my lids. They look great dry and the look just intensifies wet. They apply like a dream and also work well as a liner. Guess what? They even work as a blush! I just love a multifunctional product!

So, without further ado… Let the swatch fest begin!

These M3 shades look great together or you can mix and match the colours to suit your look. How amazing is that peachy orange shade?

These purples are delicate and subtle enough to look great during the day and can be applied wet for an intense evening look.

These green shades are great for green eyed girls. The middle shade is a gorgeous forest green with a brighter shimmer within and how lovely is the last grassy green shade.

I purchased these ones as a subtle trio I could wear to work but they also make great highlighting shades to wear with the more dramatic colours.

I have so much fun with these cute mermaid shades. The look lovely on their own, but actually work great together also!

These didn’t photograph as well as they should have, more green than brown. Rich and earthy. I love the deep olive shade in the center.

How much fun can you have with red, pink and rust? Plenty!

Not for the faint hearted….these are pure wild child shades!

Pure platinum silver to compliment every look!

Not sure if you can see that this silver with a pink shimmer running through it is amazing!

Just have a look at this gorgeous pink shimmer. Stunning!

Don’t forget about my blog sale guys….EVERYTHING MUST GO in my, which means final price reductions…So grab a bargain now!
