This might be a little late to the party since Megan, Ashleigh, Chelle and Celina have already reviewed much of the range and given their thoughts on the Hello Kitty product range at Priceline but I had a play around with the products today and thought I’d share my thoughts with you too.
There is not a whole lot of detail provided on the packaging except that range is made in various places in Europe, but I did a bit of hunting and found out the Hello Kitty range is part of Heritage Brands, as are Australis, Innoxa and Fing’rs products.
What they say…
“Hello Kitty Cosmetics, the epitome of sophisticated cuteness has arrived! Playfully packaged, European designed and formulated, this full cosmetic range oozes quality and style. The ‘super kawaii’ iconic Hello Kitty motif brings the product to life with her dynamic spark and whimsical charm. Hello Kitty is a cult favourite and a brand that transcends generations like no other brand.” (Heritage Brands)
What I say…
I really like the shadow collection. They are beautifully pigmented for a drugstore brand and while they are crumbly in texture a little seems to go a long way, unlike many other bargain brands. I particularly like the Les Genadne shade and can see myself getting a lot of wear out of it. Desert Dore is also a great base shade that would suit many other feature colours.
Both the pencil and liquid liners are easy to use and offer a deep, dark line. I just wish I had the ability to use liquid liner! The mascara wand is soooo long (one of the longest I have used) but it makes application easy. The mascara is a nice black, but the formula isn’t anything to rave about. It will probably be something I just wear to work.
The Powder and blush are lovely and I can see myself using these daily. The powder is the perfect shade to suit my skin tone, but using it would mean ruining the lovely embossed image of Hello Kitty. What a dilemma! The blush is a nice warm pink with a hint of gold.
The glosses are lovely. Sweet Kiss is a nice clear to keep lips looking lovely. Kawai Kiss is a bright sheer pink, perfect for summer beach days!
Violetta is a nice build-able purple shade that can be sheer or a nice solid purple depending on how heavy your application is and Bollywood is a fun fuchsia pink. It is probably important to mention that the lipstick bullets are quite small, but I like them this way as they are easy to keep in your handbag or pocket and it means I can fit more in my makeup bag!
Baby Lips is a really versatile gloss that is not too sticky or thick. I honestly think the texture compares to my favourite Benefit glosses without being as thick and heavy as they can be. I also really love the candy/fairy floss smell!Pink Paradise would be great, if only I was a 13 year old girl. Again, it is heavily scented and is a sheer gloss loaded with sparkles. I could not see myself getting much wear out of this one, but it is a bit of fun!
Last up are the nail polish shades. I have Eva Pink and Golden Girl and decided Golden Girl would be perfect to swatch, since I plan on wearing it to work tomorrow. It is a really great gold foil. Very easy to apply, the consistency is not too thick or thin and it only took two coats to get great colour, but best of all it dried really quickly which I love!
